About Us

A Brief History of Troop 234

  • Troop 234 is sponsored by American Legion Post 252,  in Williamstown, NJ.
  • Our Troop meets on Wednesday evenings during the school year. Our meetings are from 7:30-9:00 PM.
  • Any Boy who is 11 years old, or one who has completed the fifth grade or earned the Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old, but is not yet 18 years old is invited to join.
  • We are 35 members youth strong.
  • Troop 234 is BSA youth run organization. Under the guidance of the Scoutmasters, the boys pick their activities.
  • We have a large number of scouts who have earned their Eagle Rank and are still active in the troop. We have had 56 Eagle Scouts in total.
  • Troop 234 works hand in hand with our local churches, schools, and town to make our community a better place to live, play and work.
  • A Chairperson and the Troop Committee oversee the troop. Members of the Committee are registered leaders. The Troop Committee meets once a month.

The Mission Statement of Troop 234:

The Mission Statement of Troop 234 is to uphold the Mission of the Boy Scouts of America, which is, "To prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law."
